Measure guide

How to measure your glove size

Glove size is your palm circumference in inches. Measure your dominant hand around the knuckles, then convert to US, EU or a letter size.

Finding your glove size takes one measurement of your dominant hand, since it is usually the slightly larger of the two. A soft tape measure works best, but a strip of paper and a ruler will do.

Measure the palm, not the fingers, and keep your hand relaxed and slightly open.

  1. Measure around your palm. Wrap the tape around the widest part of your palm, just below the knuckles, leaving the thumb out. Keep your hand flat and relaxed.
  2. Note the circumference. Read the measurement in inches. This number is close to your numeric glove size.
  3. Measure hand length if needed. For a better fit, also measure from the base of your palm to the tip of your middle finger and use the larger of the two sizes.
  4. Match to the chart. Find your palm circumference in the chart and read across to a US number, EU number or letter size.

Measuring questions

How do I measure glove size?

Measure the circumference of your palm around the knuckles, excluding the thumb, in inches. That figure is your glove size. Use your dominant hand, which is usually slightly larger.

Should gloves fit tight or loose?

Gloves should be snug with a little room at the fingertips. Too tight restricts movement and circulation, too loose reduces grip and warmth.
